We have developed our own secure, streamlined, and paperless testing work-flow. This workflow is based around the QR codes on our sample collection packs, utilising the Yoti digital identity app. Our workflow is designed with data privacy and data security in mind, conforming to GDPR. Where our clients wish to provide COVID-19 tests to their customers, we also offer online booking and payment systems to further streamline the process.
Certior Health is an authorised distributor for some of the world’s leading test manufacturers from the UK, Europe, and China. We currently distribute RT-PCR (including rapid point-of-care PCR tests), RT-LAMP, lateral flow, and antibody tests.
We are always looking for new and innovative testing solutions that make rapid testing more precise and cost-effective. Our laboratory team performs our own evaluations and provides training on all tests we distribute. This enables us to effectively support our customers, allowing quick and cost-effective adoption of our tests.
RT-PCR Testing
Our RT-PCR test is developed in the UK by Primer Design (a Novacyt company). It has been developed with the NHS to provide fast and cost-effective point-of care testing for COVID-19. It uses patented technology to streamline the testing process, making it quicker, simpler and a significantly lower cost than standard laboratory based RT-PCR tests. This streamlined process ensures that testing may be performed on-site by any suitably qualified personnel.
As a RT-PCR it is considered to be a WHO Gold Standard test and is accepted for entry into other countries.
- Evaluated and approved for use by the NHS by the DHSC.
- No RNA extraction enabling a processing time of 60 mins.
- Weekly updates to validate detection of all known variants of SARS-CoV-2 RNA.
Rapid Antigen Testing
A COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test is a lateral flow immunoassay. Embedded into the test strip are antibodies that bind to the COVID-19 virus. An individual nasal swab is taken from the participant. The sample is mixed with specific reagents and then added to one end of the test cassette. The sample flows along the test strip and interacts with detecting antibodies. If the patient has contracted COVID-19 (the Antigen), the biomarkers bind to the virus on the test strip, leaving a visible test line. If the patient does not have COVID-19, no biomarker is present.
The result of the test can be detected by the use of a specific test reader or by visual analysis based on the cassette type. The test gives a qualitative yes/no result within 1 hour.
A positive test result for COVID-19 indicates that antigens from COVID-19 were detected, and the patient is potentially infected with the virus and presumed to be contagious. A positive test result is notified to the individual immediately with the recommendation that they follow up with a PCR test which can be arranged with our clinical team.
